I was looking for different blogs that were talking about valid teenage trends, and I found a blog, by KATE MOSH.
She was looking for answers to this question: Why are African Americans trends so popular among all young people?
As a teenager, I was interested in reading the opinions of people and why they think it is popular among young people.
Reading this blog entry, the writer had some good points of evidence that “the “superior” races have looked to the “inferior” races for inspiration.” (Kate Mosh, 1)
In some ways I agree that is a true statement.
- I listen to rap music
- I do watch MTV/BET
- I like their cultures creativity and I try to create my own ideas
But, what is “black clothing, music, dance moves, physical features, slang, music, and art?” Are we all of a sudden categorizing hobbies, interests, or fashions to certain races.
Yes, some kids do wear their pants off their butt, and you call that black style. That may true
But Look on the other side.
That’s like saying, if an African American wears a suit and tie, they are taking our trend?
That would not be right
**Trends are exchanged back and fourth, and they will always be like that. Trends are copied and used throughout all races, and the trend isn’t just used because of the race it came from. It’s just what works, and what goes.**
People exchange trends all the time, and try to enhance them and make them more creative.
